We take on everything from one rotted set of rear stairs to a full first-floor gut renovation, and every photo in our project write-ups is from one of our own jobs.
Great communication to set up free estimate for the work. They inspected the repair and gave me a very fair price. They completed the repairs well and in a timely manner. I had them repair my deck stairs. They also gave me some great tips on how to maintain my deck better going forward. Thank you guys so much! I'll definitely use this company again.”

One crew for the inside and the outside of your house
A remodel rarely stays in one room. New cabinets often mean new flooring, and a rebuilt deck often needs a new back door. We plan the whole job together, under one written scope and one schedule, so you're not lining up separate contractors.
What we do
Inside and outside the house. Many jobs mix two or three of these, and we manage the whole job, with licensed plumbers and electricians for the work the law requires them to do.
How a job actually goes
Photos from our own job sites. You get the scope and price in writing before we start, and photos of anything we find once the walls are open.

Step 1
Tear-out
We take it back to what's solid. In older homes that often means framing, subfloor and old repairs nobody did right.

Step 2
Framing and repairs
New walls, blocking and fixes for whatever we found, photographed and explained before we close anything up.

Step 3
The parts you won't see
Backer board and waterproofing membrane go on before tile, so the wall behind your shower stays dry.

Step 4
Finish and walkthrough
Floors, trim, paint and fixtures, then we walk the job with you and fix anything that isn't right.
Before and after
Slide across each photo to compare the same space at the start and the end of the job.

In our clients' words
“Working with Solomon Construction and Remodeling was the best company to work with. I shopped around for what I needed and they were the first to say yes.The past snow storm did a lot of damage to my front steps. They were a hazard. I would recommend them for any work you need. I will use them again and again.”

The crew behind the work.
You'll know us by the white trucks with the orange roof on the door. What clients bring up most in their reviews is the crew itself: on time, clean, straightforward to deal with.

Frequently asked questions
What areas do you serve?
We are based at 5812 Gist Ave in northwest Baltimore (21215) and work across Baltimore City, Baltimore County (Pikesville, Towson, Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Catonsville, Lutherville-Timonium, Cockeysville, Parkville, White Marsh, Rosedale, Nottingham), Howard County (Ellicott City, Columbia) and northern Anne Arundel County (Glen Burnie, Pasadena, Severna Park).
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. Most start with a call or a few photos sent by text, followed by an on-site visit to measure and talk through options before we write up a price.
Can you handle a job that covers several rooms or trades?
Yes. Many of our projects mix interior and exterior work, like a new roof and the bedroom ceiling it damaged, or a kitchen remodel with new flooring through the first floor and fresh paint in every room. You get one written scope and schedule for the whole job, and licensed plumbers and electricians handle the work the law requires them to do.
Do you work on Baltimore rowhouses?
Yes. Along with detached houses, we work on rowhouses across the City, including jobs with alley-only access and shared party walls.
Who handles permits?
We tell you up front whether your project needs a permit in your jurisdiction. Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County and Anne Arundel each have their own permit office and rules. Plumbing and electrical permits are pulled by licensed master plumbers and electricians, as each jurisdiction requires.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on scope. Repairs and refinishing can take a day or two; a bathroom remodel usually runs a few weeks once materials are on site; kitchens and whole-floor renovations take longer. You get the scope and schedule in writing before work starts.
